Brief

The Avenues is Kuwait’s largest and most-visited shopping and leisure destination. Spread over an area of 301,000 sq. m., the mall has over 800 stores and services, 10 anchors, and a parking capacity for 10,000 vehicles. The design of the 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue reflect the natural lines of the Arabian Desert, whereas the new districts are inspired by some of the oldest cities in the world.

The Avenues blends tradition and modernity, and the architecture sets new standards of contemporary building in the Arab world. Every year, the mall draws more than 22 million visitors and total spending exceeds $1 billion.

1st Avenue
The concept of the 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue is inspired by the natural forms of the desert sand dune, rock formation and the sky. The 1st Avenue houses over 200 operating stores, services, restaurants and cafes including renowned international brands. The district is spacious with wide corridors. It has 11 screens at Cinescape Cinema area (including a VIP Cinema).

2nd Avenue
The glass roof at the 2nd Avenue is designed to allow the sun to light up the internal area, giving an outdoor feel. The district houses over 200 plus operating stores with a variety of renowned international designer brands, restaurants and cafes, family entertainment and play areas. The 2nd Avenue has the first Carrefour Hypermarket in Kuwait.

Prestige
Prestige is the district of elegance and luxury, housing high-end brands and the finest international restaurants and cafes. It is considered the largest luxury shopping destination in Kuwait. The Avenues’ visitors will indulge in a luxurious experience from the first step into Prestige to the last second of their visit. Unique architectural designs are reflected in the use of copper and the rare ‘Portoro’ stone, which was imported from the mountains of Italy, and the wonderful dome with its unique twinkle lighting in the rotunda, as well as the water fountain that is visible from the first floor. Prestige will definitely astonish you!

Grand Avenue
The design of the Grand Avenue was inspired by both Champs-Elysees in Paris and Oxford Street in London, adding a new shopping and leisure dimension that gives a city feel through a climate-controlled ceiling, making it a prime shopping destination in Kuwait. It gives the visitors the feeling that they are walking down a tree-lined grand shopping boulevard with its streetlights and metro directional signage. The district houses many new international brands that are opening their stores in Kuwait for the first time.

The Mall
The Mall is one of the new distinctive districts of The Avenues and it is an extension of the classic mall environment and the existing shopping experience at the 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue. It houses a variety of well recognized stores, making it a new home of world renowned brands.  The Mall will also bring a unique shopping experience by introducing the ‘Jewelry Zone’, an exclusive retail outlet where both color and design reflect a high value façade to showcase the opulent masterpieces of jewelry, precious stones and gold for luxury shoppers. Above the ‘Jewelry Zone’ sits a leading world brand in children’s entertainment and education, ‘Kidzania’. The district includes several courtyard plazas that will have cafes and restaurants that enhance the lively atmosphere of the district.

SoKu
SoKu is an acronym for the South of Kuwait and is influenced by New York’s bohemian Soho district with its timber and brick elements, as well as some touches of modern design and creations. SoKu offers an iconic urban shopping experience that attracts young people, and the district is perfectly poised to house leading youth brands. It is the best place for young visitors to hang out and chill with friends.

The Souk
The Souk resembles the old traditional Kuwaiti souk (market). This district is an interpretation of the region’s traditional retail architecture. It is constructed to replicate the characteristic of the Souk environment, including a maze of narrow alleyways inside The Souk and many small shops based on layout of old Kuwait City. Material used in building The Souk was inspired from The Old Souk such as rendered timber windows, riveted doors and an elegantly designed ceiling in the traditional style of ‘Chandal’ and ‘Basjeel’. The traditional environment is enhanced with the application of light and shadows on the walls inside The Souk. Visitors will find all the traditional and unique items that they seek, and can extend their visit to The Souk by spending some time at the cafes and restaurants that offer the best Kuwaiti cuisine.
